Will There Be A Manifest Season 5?
After Netflix took over production to release Manifest Season 4 and give fans a proper answer to the cliffhanger ending of Manifest Season 3, it also came with the announcement that Manifest Season 4 would be the last and would “conclude” the series for good.
Netflix also stated that Manifest Season 4 would be released in two halves – Manifest Season 4 Part 1 and Manifest Season 4 Part 2, each being 10 episodes long.
Manifest Season 4 Part 1 release date was 4th November 2022, while Manifest Season 4 Part 2 release date was 2nd June 2023.
Both halves of the season had 10 episodes each, making Manifest Season 4 20 episodes long. This makes this season the longest Manifest season ever. Manifest Season 1 had 16 episodes, while Manifest Season 2 and Manifest Season 3 had 13 episodes each.
Therefore, you can say that Manifest Season 4 Part 2 is Manifest Season 5, though it’s not termed as such.
However, since the story officially concluded with Manifest Season Part 2, there won’t be any Manifest Season 5.
Why Was Manifest Canceled After Season 3?
In case you started watching Manifest after it was ported over to Netflix, then there are some interesting things you must know about this series.
Before it was available for streaming on Netflix, Manifest initially aired on NBC. However, after Manifest Season 3 aired from April to June 2021, the series was canceled due to poor ratings.
But, over the course of these three seasons, Manifest had built its dedicated fanbase, which mostly consisted of people who enjoyed watching Lost – the series Manifest was inspired from.
Considering the fact that Manifest Season 3 ended on a major cliffhanger, its fanbase started boycotting NBC for its decision to cancel Manifest. Way too many people wanted to learn about the fate of the passengers of Flight 828 and understand what their supernatural callings meant.
In addition, series creator Jeff Rake initially sold the Manifest IP to NBC with a deal for six seasons. However, after NBC canceled it, all hope was lost for Jake.
But, Netflix understood the potential for the series to garner more viewership. Therefore, they bought the series from NBC. However, instead of adapting the series till Manifest Season 6, they allowed Jeff to create one more season.
But since Jeff had already planned out the story to accommodate six seasons, they had to do something here. Therefore, he shortened the storyline of the final three seasons into 20 episodes. Since the initial deal with Jeff was for one more season, they allowed him to release the series in two parts – Season 4 Part 1 and Season 4 Part 2.
Therefore, instead of releasing Manifest Season 5 and Manifest Season 6, they concluded it in Season 4, Parts 1 and 2.
What Happened At The End Of Manifest Season 4? [SPOILERS]
There is a clear reason why Manifest Season 5 is not a possibility anymore. It’s because Manifest Season 4 Part 2 (technically, Manifest Season 5) concluded the story. It’s the end here.
Therefore, what happened to the passengers of Flight 828? How did the story end in Manifest Season 4 Part 2? If you want spoilers, then keep on reading to understand why there won’t be a Manifest Season 5!
WARNING! The section below contains many spoilers regarding the ending of Manifest Season 4 Part 2. Read at your own risk!
By the end of Manifest Season 3, we learn that Angelica has turned to the dark side, murdering Grace Stone (Athena Karkanis), the wife of Ben Stone (Josh Dallas). She does so after absorbing the power of the Sapphire Stone.
However, this was not without any repercussions. Since the now deranged Angelica absorbed the power of the Sapphire Stone, this action of hers set into motion the eruption of many volcanic fissures globally. All of this pointed to only one thing – Armageddon – or the end of Earth – is near.
However, Cal Stone (Ty Doran) is pointed to be the Messiah, the one who is going to prevent it all. However, his leukemia cancer makes him approach death fast. To prevent him from dying so easily, Zeke (Matt Long) used his empathic powers to heal him.
However, this came at a cost – his own life. With Zeke gone, saving the world fell in the hands of the Stone family.
However, as the Death Date – the day resurrected people will die for good again approaches near, it’s now a race against time to prevent themselves from dying and save the world.
In the end, we see the remaining passengers of Flight 828 board the flight again and prepare for takeoff after following their respective callings.
Here, we learn that the callings are the voice of the Divine. As they prepared for takeoff, all the passengers were put on trial by the Divine. Here, they were all tried according to their actions committed since their resurrection in Manifest Season 1.
Here, all the members of the Stone family survived with no harm. Saanvi was almost burnt to death since she committed the sin of killing the Major back in Manifest Season 2. However, her other “good” actions throughout the series outweighed this sin. She was ultimately spared.
However, Angelica and a few others were burnt to a crisp (as expected).
In the end, we see the surviving members of Flight 828 land five years back in time. They landed at the same time the flight was supposed to land.
Therefore, the ending negates everything that takes place throughout the seasons. Ultimately, the Stones stopped the apocalypse by reversing back time.
Conclusion: Manifest Season 5 Won’t Be Happening After All
Manifest Season 5 is not a possibility since the story of the show concluded with the release of Manifest Season 4 Part 2. Therefore, it’s best not to get your hopes up for a new season. Plus, Manifest Season 4 Part 2 is technically Manifest Season 5. So watch it now!
